Amy Adams will be held accountable to taxpayers

7 MARCH 2018
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The New Zealand Taxpayers’ Union is looking forward to holding National’s new finance spokesperson accountable to taxpayers.

Taxpayers’ Union Executive Director Jordan Williams says, “Amy Adams will play a major role in determining National’s stance on questions affecting taxpayers, such as whether to adjust income tax brackets, cut the company tax rate, and reverse wasteful government spending.”

Last month, Adams told Newshub, ‘I grew up knowing that every single dollar the Government spends comes out of the pocket of a Kiwi who's got up hard to work it. I will always respect that every dollar we take has been earned by someone else, and we've got to spend it with every bit as much care as they would.’

“The Taxpayers’ Union will be watching to see if Amy Adams backs up her fiscally conservative comments with her actions as the new Opposition finance spokesperson.”
