Hillary Rodham Clinton Auckland Event; Dame Jenny Shipley to moderate.

Leading Australian business events provider, The Growth Faculty, has confirmed Dame Jenny Shipley will facilitate the conversation with Secretary Clinton as she shares her personal insights into the 2016 US presidential election, its aftermath, leadership and the future.

This one night only event will be held in Auckland on May 7.

Dame Jenny will explore stories from Secretary Clinton’s New York Times bestseller, What Happened and discuss what the future holds for the former Secretary of State and Senator for New York.

“Secretary Clinton is a remarkable woman leader of our time who’s work ethic, bravery, resilience and determination have been and remain an amazing inspiration to all those who are committed to a more inclusive, progressive and diverse world,” Dame Jenny said.

“Having met Secretary Clinton and her family on a variety of occasions this will be a special privilege to explore freely a range of issues with her that I know will be of great interest to those who have a chance to hear her, to feel her energy and to gain a deeper understanding of her leadership purpose and achievements,” says Dame Jenny.

Karen Beattie, Managing Director of The Growth Faculty said, “With the common experiences that span leadership, policy and the passion and desire to drive change, Dame Jenny will bring the right blend of knowledge, enthusiasm and insight required to host such an esteemed speaker.”

During the evening, Secretary Clinton will share lessons from her experiences, what they’ve taught her about life, and give insights on her role as a woman in politics.

Free from the constraints of running for office, Secretary Clinton will share the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules.

“The unique combination of Secretary Clinton’s personal experience and global perspective is one that many New Zealanders will find fascinating. Audiences can expect her candid insights and learnings to resonate with both their professional and personal lives,” said Ms Beattie.

Previous events presented by The Growth Faculty have included headline speakers Simon Sinek, Malcom Gladwell, Jim Collins, Valerie Jarrett and George Clooney.
