Cannabis Referendum Coalition Launches Givealittle

Cannabis Referendum Coalition Launches Givealittle For Education & Lobbying Campaign

The Cannabis Referendum Coalition has been set up to campaign around the government referendum on legalising the personal use of cannabis. The Coalition has launched a Givealittle page to raise funds to educate Kiwis, promote a good turnout and change the law.

The Cannabis Referendum Coalition (CRC) is a newly formed network of individuals and organisations campaigning for cannabis law reform, with a mission to educate and inform the New Zealand public during the Cannabis Referendum.

“It’s time New Zealand got with the programme. We now have plenty of real-world evidence about what works when it comes to cannabis laws. A fully legalised cannabis market is simply the only way of comprehensively addressing the problems of prohibition. We will be strongly pushing for real change and for a yes vote when NZers go to the polls.” says CRC member Nandor Tanzcos.

“We have the backing of people from all walks of life – including celebrities, politicians, law and health professionals and the business sector. The CRC will be making further announcements on key partners in the near future” says CRC member Sandra Murray “It’s time to #MakeItLegal”.

“Canada goes legal in October, and we want to be next!” says CRC Wellington campaigner Phil Saxby. “We will be building our ‘YES’ campaign at our conference in Wellington in November.”

The Cannabis Referendum Coalition's objectives are to:

- Campaign for the referendum to be held in 2019
- Gain a commitment from the government to action the outcome of the referendum
- Ensure a good turnout of supporters in the referendum vote
- Support a two-part referendum question:
Part 1: Should adults be allowed to possess and use cannabis?
Part 2: Should adults be able to buy cannabis in licensed premises?
