Say no to the Israel Institute's call
Say no to the Israel Institute's call
Israel Institute of New Zealand director, Dr David Cumin, is calling on the Government “to distance itself from a decision by Labour MP, Dr Duncan Webb, to host a meeting featuring Unite Union National Director Mike Treen in which Mr Treen will be speaking on his recent participation” in the inspirational ‘International Freedom Flotilla’ in defence of Palestinian victims of Israeli human rights abuses.
The vessel in which Mike Treen was travelling was boarded in international waters by Israeli military who used appalling violence towards the civilian crew and passengers, hurting even a fragile 69-year-old woman, Dr Swee Ang. Along with everybody else, shewas later forced to enter Israel and then robbed of personal belongings. This act further underlined the lawless and contemptuous nature of the Israeli hijacking.
