Hunters Gearing for a Battle for the Game Animal Council

Eugene Sage has had a hatred for introduce game animals since her many years working as a Forest and Bird campaigner and her anti deer zealotry shows no sign of letting up as she puts the Game Animal Council on notice.

The New Zealand Outdoors party said today "They will make it a bottom line in any future coalition talks, should Engine Sage de-establish the Game Animal Council, to have it reinstated and with adequate funding provisions".

The Game Animal Council has been deliberately starved for funding by the Minister who has failed to take to cabinet the paper allowing for its funding.

Party President Alan Simmons said "There seems to be a concerted effort by DoC under her leadership to get rid of deer and pigs as part of the thinly disguised Battle for the birds campaign with increased carpet bombing of our once pristine wilderness areas leading to mass poisoning the very animals that thousands of people rely on to feed their families".

Alan Simmons said "that hunters, fisherman and all lovers of the outdoors need to grow some balls and challenge this non native phobia that is permeating DoC and the Green Party. The battle of the birds is really a battle for the minds of people and outdoor people are beginning to fight back as will be seen by the anti 1080 Hikoi marching its way down the country towards parliament right now.

The NZ Outdoors Party is serving notice on any party who may need them at the next election that they will force substantial change to the area of management of wild animals. It is every New Zealanders right to be able to harvest wild foods from our forests and rivers that is not poisoned and to continue to wipe them out is destroying our birthright.

"The time has come" Alan Simmons said 'for Outdoors people to show Eugene Sage and Doc that the battle lines are now being drawn. "
