Press Release: New Zealand Taxpayers' Union
18 DECEMBER 2018
Responding to the Education Minister’s
decision to reject an application to change the name of
Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand Taxpayers’
Union spokesman and VUW alumni Louis Houlbrooke says:
“This is exactly what we have been calling for. The
Education Minister should be applauded for his decision to
reject this expensive and unpopular initiative. This will
come as a relief to Vic alumni and taxpayers in general, who
no longer have to stump up millions in rebranding
costs.”
Disclosure: Taxpayers’ Union chairman
Barrie Saunders has been involved with the ‘Stick with
Vic’ campaign and in July submitted against the name
change.
