Have your say on a bill aimed at improving regulatory systems in housing

The Social Services and Community Committee is seeking public submissions on the Regulatory Systems (Housing) Amendment Bill (No 2). The bill would make small regulatory amendments in the area of housing. It is one of a package of three bills that amends legislation administered by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment.

The bill would amend the Housing Restructuring and Tenancy Matters Act 1992 to simplify the role of the Community Housing Regulatory Authority and remove the administrative burden on registered community housing providers. It would also amend the Retirement Villages Act 2003 to clarify the penalty for breaching section 92(2) of that Act, which relates to codes of practice.

Tell the Social Services and Community Committee what you think
Send your submission on the bill by midnight on Wednesday 24 April 2019.
