Police doing a great job as crime drops
The Sensible Sentencing Trust is congratulating Police on the recent drop in crime and says less crime equates to less victims.
Trust Spokesman Garth McVicar said that while the Police had come under recent attack for being racist along with calls to get rid of Three Strikes the drop in crime was very positive and would benefit all ethnicities.
“The Police do a great job but are unable to defend themselves against the recent attacks on their integrity. Hopefully this drop in crime will silence their critics. These people are part of a bi-gone era and obviously struggling with the fact that this drop in crime does not fit with their failed ideology and policies of the past.”
“We also acknowledge the terrific work National and Act has done with the implementation of ‘three-strike’ legislation, obviously the message that crime is a choice and prison is a consequence is starting to get through.”
“It amazes me that anyone [Re-thinking or Maori Party] are opposed to legislation that is proving to be so effective!”
“I am sure this drop in crime would be reflected across all races and would also represent a significant drop in victims.”
“Who can be opposed to that?”
“Obviously the new approach to crime is working and we congratulate the Police and encourage the Government to ignore the critics.”
