Will the Invisible Man Appear Tonight?

Tonight is the last opportunity for Manukau East MP Ross Robertson to front up to an election forum.

“Ross has not shown his face at either of the two candidate forums so far and the forum tonight at 7pm at the Otahuhu Baptist Church in Mason Road Otahuhu is his last opportunity” says Mana candidate for Manukau East, John Minto.

“For 20 years this MP has been parliament’s invisible man. He has collected a fat salary, drunk lots of cups of tea but made not a ripple in or out of parliament and certainly never spoken out on ANY of the issues affecting this predominantly low-income Maori and Pacifika electorate.

“In two decades he has consistently come under the radar, coasting on the backs of the local people, taking their Labour votes for granted but never raising his voice above a whisper on their behalf.

“He is an embarrassment to democracy and I know he is also now an embarrassment to the Labour Party, as he should be.

“If he turns up tonight I will be calling for him to resign before Saturday’s election,” Mr Minto says.

Mana’s education policy launch
Also at tonight’s candidate forum John Minto, Mana’s Education Spokesperson, will release MANA’s education policy for this election.
