Wahine Maori Unite! Vote For Annette Sykes

WAHINE MAORI UNITE! VOTE FOR ANNETTE SYKES

ROBYN KAHUKIWA AND ROSE PERE

Famed Maori artist Robyn Kahukiwa and pioneering Maori spiritualist and healer Dr Rangimarie Turuki Rose Pere are encouraging Waiariki voters to get behind Annette Sykes.

Kahukiwa says "It may come as a surprise to most people but the seat of Waiariki and formerly Eastern Maori has never been held by a Maori woman.

"I would like to see our wahine support Annette to become a Member of Parliament for Waiariki. No one can ever accuse Annette Sykes of not being strong. She is a role model to other Maori women, being principled, committed and dedicated when it comes to representing our people. As an artist that depicts Maori women I love using women such as Annette to inspire and motivate what I do".

Pere says that all Maori women should vote for Annette Sykes.

"Annette stands for the Spirit of Freedom, Justice and Truth. We need to get the balance of the Mother Energy back into our midst. Traditionally our ancient people were Matriarchal , they resolved conflict around the Wharenui...not though war.

"Vote for Annette Sykes, and what she stands for because she certainly wouldn't back down when it comes to upholding Maori rights. I believe Annette would make a wonderful politician and could go to become one of Maoridom's greats. I implore Waiariki voters, especially women, to give her the chance by ticking Annette Sykes this Saturday"

If Annette wins Waiariki Electorate she will become the first Maori woman since women were given the right to vote in 1893 to ever represent the Waiariki Electorate mandated by the people.
