Worldwide Protest against Child Abuse – Wellington

Worldwide Protest against Child Abuse – Wellington

We have just been notified of an anti-child abuse peaceful protest occurring worldwide on Tuesday 6 March 2012. New Zealand has one of the highest rates of child abuse in the world with at least 10 children dying each year from child abuse related injuries.

New Zealand has the opportunity to take part in this worldwide peaceful protest by joining the peaceful walk starting at Wellington Railway with a one minute silence at 12pm. The walk will then proceed along Lambton Quay. Barb Mullen an active anti-child abuse campaigner, mother and grandmother has just completed walking over 750kms from Napier to Porirua. Barb will be leading the walk for New Zealand.

People who wish to take part but who cannot get to Wellington, can show their voice by standing and giving one minute’s silence at 12pm Tuesday 6 March 2012. We did it for Christchurch, we did it for our Pike River miners, let’s do it for our children.
