On Q+A this week, Deputy Political Editor Jessica Mutch interviews the successful candidate from the Ikaroa Rawhiti by-election, then talks through the result with Labour leader David Shearer. She’ll ask him about recent poor poll results and whether he’s on notice to lift his game.

Jess also asks Transport and Earthquake Recovery Minister Gerry Brownlee about the billions in infrastructure spending the Government’s announced for Christchurch and Auckland this week.

And Susan Wood talks personalities with Aussie political pundit Barrie Cassidy in the wake of Kevin Rudd’s revenge rolling of Julia Gillard.

On the panel, Dr Jon Johansson from Victoria University of Wellington, columnist and government relations consultant Matthew Hooton, and union activist Matt McCarten.
