Brown's office has as many staff as the Prime Minister

31 January 2014

Reacting to this morning’s report in the National Business Review that Auckland Mayor, Len Brown, has as many staff in his office as the Prime Minister, Executive Director of the Taxpayers’ Union, Jordan Williams, says:

“Mr Brown’s put together an army of advisors, spin doctors and political staff, all paid for by Auckland ratepayers. The share number indicate they’re not there to look after the public, they’re there to look after Len Brown.”

“In the age of Outlook and the iPhone, why does Len Brown need two full-time diary managers?”

“On top of all this, in recent months ratepayers have been footing the bill for a mayoral security detail which appears to be more about quelling protesters than security.”

The NBR article is available.
