NZ Green Investment Finance a great step

NZ Green Investment Finance a great step towards lower emissions

Sir Robert Fenwick has applauded the launch of New Zealand Green Investment Finance (NZGIF) today as a great step towards a lower emissions economy.

"The NZGIF has a valuable role in attracting investment into low-emissions projects that are good for the environment and good for business," says Sir Robert. "I’m delighted to see Government making investment funds available to accelerate progress of environmental businesses, recognising the true value of natural capital.

"This is something that I am passionate about. As a businessperson, environmentalist and professional director, I have been an advocate of greater environmental sustainability for many years. So I am pleased to be the NZGIF Ambassador and to have the opportunity to champion the fund and extend knowledge into the wider community about the NZGIF’s function, objectives and purpose.

"I look forward to putting my support behind NZGIF Chair Cecilia Tarrant, Board Director David Woods and the future Board to highlight the NZGIF as an effective enabler of green investment."

Information on the NZGIF is available online at https://treasury.govt.nz/greeninvestment.
