Alliance Announced Between Leading Online Advertising players
WebMasters Network signs agreement with Asia Pacific
online market leader, BMCMedia.com Limited

AUCKLAND – Tuesday 14.11.00 – WebMasters Network, New Zealand’s premier website representation company, has announced a strategic alliance with the foremost provider of online advertising and marketing solutions in Australia and the Asia Pacific, BMCMedia.com (BMCMedia) Limited.

Through this alliance, the sites represented by WebMasters Network in New Zealand will enjoy the opportunity of securing additional advertising revenue from Australia, by having a permanent sales presence in both Sydney and Melbourne, via the BMCMedia office.

New Zealand based advertisers wishing to reach the Australian or Asia Pacific online audiences will be able to plan and buy their campaigns via the Auckland or Wellington offices of WebMasters Network. They can place their message on premium web brands represented by BMCMedia, such as mega portal telstra.com, the official Australian Stock Exchange website (asx.com.au), Asia’s largest Chinese language website, sina.com and streaming audio and video pioneers Real Networks (real.co.nz and real.com.au).

According to Deborah Davenport, Business Unit Manager of WebMasters Network, the new alliance will bring significant benefits for the online advertising industry in New Zealand. “From today both companies will be working in tandem to build successful online campaigns across the Tasman and will provide a single point of contact for advertisers, advertising agencies and website publishers, regardless of where they are based or where they wish to advertise.

“The initial focus for WebMasters Network will be to introduce New Zealand advertisers to the innovative online product initiatives that Australian advertisers are currently enjoying through BMCMedia’s extensive interactive marketing product set.

“BMCMedia’s initial focus will be liasing with Australian companies who wish to reach the highly targeted group of New Zealanders that WebMasters Network represents.”

“We believe that WebMasters Network and BMCMedia have very similar philosophies in business and their approach to online marketing and advertising,” says Shane Murray, Chief Operating Officer, BMCMedia.

“It is a logical move to partner with a company that is so well placed within the New Zealand market. WebMasters Network and BMCMedia have a vast amount of experience, both domestically and internationally.”

BMCMedia handled all the online advertising and sponsorships for the official Sydney Olympics Site (www.olympics.com) in Australia and the Asia Pacific and represents over 400 websites throughout the region. Their unique understanding of online marketing in the Asia Pacific is now seeing them gain an increasing number of campaigns that cross several markets. Having the right infrastructure in place to properly service these campaigns has now become essential for both companies.

“The Internet has opened up new borders which means that advertisers are looking for comprehensive solutions that cross those borders. This in turn means that companies like WebMasters Network and BMCMedia need to build strong relationships to achieve the results that advertisers need,” adds Murray.

WebMasters Network sites gaining Australian presence through this alliance include FashioNZ, Sharechat, Garden-NZ, Kiwiflatmates.com, Travel.co.nz Vodafone.net, Homebizbuzz, QuickenNZ, Surf.co.nz, Autos.co.nz, Trade-Exchange, Yippee.net, AccessNZ, Hitwise.co.nz, Realrunner.co.nz and Realbuzz.co.nz.
