Yippee.Net Enters The World Of E-Commerce

From today you can now purchase software through News Zealand's most popular download site.

Yippee.net features over 10,000 software titles - all for instant free download.

"Before today, if you liked a program you got from our site enough to buy the full version, you would have to go to the developer's site to do so," says Yippee Business Development Manager Peter Whittaker.

"We were getting feedback from users who found this a lengthy and frustrating process. Now you can do it all through us."

Yippee has partnered with US company RegSoft (http://www.regsoft.com) to deliver this service. "Yippee is still all about free software - but some of the programs we have are trials of bigger versions. If you are looking for new accounting software for your business you can now research it, trial it, and buy it, all from the same site," says Mr Whittaker.

Sky City : Auckland Convention Centre Cost Jumps By A Fifth

SkyCity Entertainment Group, the casino and hotel operator, is in talks with the government on how to fund the increased cost of as much as $130 million to build an international convention centre in downtown Auckland, with further gambling concessions ruled out.
