Intel® QX3™ Computer Microscope

The budding scientists dream - Intel® QX3™ Computer Microscope

Intel® has announced the QX3™ Computer Microscope and CD-ROM, which have been designed to make the microscopic world more accessible and let kids experience the world around them in a whole new way. Aimed at the scientist in younger students, aged 6 and upwards, the Computer Microscope can be attached to a PC or laptop via USB port to view magnified images on the computer screen. Once a snapshot or video has been captured, the QX3™ software is used to personalise images with the paint and special effects tools. Kids can also make their own movies and share their images as a printout or as an attachment in an e-mail to a friend.

What is it? Bringing affordable and easy-to-use technology into the heart of the classroom, the Intel Play QX3 Computer Microscope will inspire children’s curiosity and creativity, allowing them to magnify and display microscopic objects for everyone to see – right on their PC screen. These objects can be studied, captured as images, video, or time lapse movies, modified, saved, printed, emailed and more -- enabling an infinite number of educational and fun projects.

What can you do with it? The Intel® Play QX3 Computer Microscope is versatile PC-enhanced tool that allows children to explore the world around them, examining everything from live ladybugs and dog hair to moldy cheese.
