Website delivers airline to the farm gate

Booking travel arrangements has just become easier for New Zealand farmers.

Leading agricultural website Fencepost.com has linked with Air New Zealand to provide rural New Zealanders with convenient online travel bookings.

Fencepost's new travel service features airfares and special international packages aimed at the rural community.

While special fares are normally promoted for flights in or out of Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch, the Fencepost.com domestic travel offers are also available for travel from 25 provincial cities.

Using Air New Zealand online services hosted on the Fencepost site, the new service enables farmers to quickly and easily check flights and make reservations online. They can also connect through to the Air New Zealand website to access wider travel information.

"Fencepost and Air New Zealand are pleased to provide farmers with yet another way to save time and money using the Internet," says Fencepost.com chief executive Alison Andrew.

"Farmers are great travelers and are increasingly using the internet for all aspects of their businesses and life, so we're confident they'll be keen to try on-line travel booking." The Fencepost.com travel service is soon to be extended to include international travel.
