New FileMaker Applications Deliver Instant Productivity for Professionals

Leading Database Company Develops Four New Ready-to-Use Solutions:

FileMaker Recruiter, FileMaker Meetings, FileMaker Tasks and FileMaker Donations

AUCKLAND, New Zealand - 5 February 2004 - FileMaker, Inc., which markets the popular FileMaker database software, announced four new ready-to-use applications for business-specific tasks. Based on the award-winning FileMaker Pro 6 database, FileMaker Applications are designed for simple installation and do not require expertise in how to use a database. The four FileMaker Applications -- FileMaker Meetings, FileMaker Tasks, FileMaker Recruiter and FileMaker Donations -- are available immediately at www.filemaker.com.au/applications.

"Organisations need to work faster and smarter, so there's a great demand for easy to use software that helps people get the information they need when they need it," said Dominique Goupil, president of FileMaker, Inc. "Also, we see a unique opportunity to gain new customers looking for point solutions to the most popular business problems, in addition to those attracted to FileMaker as a toolkit for creating custom solutions."

The four applications are the first outcome of FileMaker, Inc.'s strategy to develop ready-to-use applications on an ongoing basis, addressing common business tasks that require gathering, managing and sharing information, such as sales prospecting, project management, asset tracking and customer service. Each application generally includes built-in email and reporting templates that allow users to personalise and automate communications and the sharing of information.

"Accumulating information for making business decisions isn't the problem for business users; it's accessing information more effectively," said Steve McManus, General Manager, FileMaker Asia Pacific. "FileMaker Applications will deliver instant insight into information, and greater productivity, to time-poor business professionals in small and large businesses alike."

FileMaker Meetings - is a purpose driven meeting management application that helps busy professionals create and run effective meetings by simplifying the whole meeting and post-meeting process from creating an agenda, managing the meeting itself, taking and distributing meeting notes, to tracking action items and deadlines. (AUD$69.00 ex. GST suggested list price)

FileMaker Tasks - is a full-featured tasks management application that helps business professionals more efficiently manage common business activities by keeping their workgroup colleagues on track and on task. The application is designed to give users a comprehensive view of their tasks, next steps and deadlines. Simple to install and easy to use, FileMaker Tasks is still powerful enough to manage multiple projects involving numerous teams. (AUD$99.00 ex. GST suggested list price)

FileMaker Recruiter - is designed to help professional recruiters easily manage searches, identify and track candidates, and communicate with clients and hiring managers. The application helps to quickly identify the most important relationships in each recruiter's network of contacts and resources as well as managing introductions and communications and providing easy to generate reporting. (AUD$449.00 ex. GST suggested list price).

FileMaker Donations - is a fundraising and donor management application that gives charitable organisations and other not-for-profit organisations more effective use of existing information about their donors, volunteers and fundraising activities. Several task-specific features help to streamline and prioritise tasks associated with fundraising and donor management. No knowledge of database software is required. (AUD$199.00 ex. GST suggested list price)

New Business Opportunity for Developers

The new applications initiative will attract new users to FileMaker, growing the market of potential clients for independent developers who create custom, professional solutions based on FileMaker. FileMaker is selecting application themes that usually have a low priority for busy IT departments. Although FileMaker Applications are designed to be ready-to-use applications, they can also be customised and extended by developers.

Availability

The FileMaker Applications are available immediately and can be purchased as a CD-ROM online at www.filemaker.com.au/applications. Most of the FileMaker applications will range in price from AUD$69.00 - 449.00 ex. GST. Customers will need to have FileMaker Pro 6 installed to run the FileMaker Applications. FileMaker Pro 6 and upgrade versions can be purchased at the same time as a bundled offer.
