Teradata Ships Data Warehouse Solution with Breakthrough Business-Intelligence Capability

AUCKLAND, New Zealand – Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), announced the shipment of Teradata® Warehouse 8.0, a powerful data warehousing solution providing businesses with breakthrough business intelligence to solve the problems of how to increase revenue, reduce expenses and identify new growth opportunities. Teradata is the first to deliver a single data warehouse that supports business intelligence capability from both traditional analytical applications and new operational analytical applications.

“The stronger, more robust Teradata data warehouse enables customers to gain a competitive edge with a new level of business intelligence,” said Julian Beavis, Teradata’s vice president for India, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. “In addition to business-intelligence capability, we continue to enhance the warehouse suite to make it even easier for businesses to integrate Teradata into their overall enterprise.”

“Teradata Warehouse 8.0 shows good performance improvement and was easy to integrate into our corporate Microsoft Windows Active Directory services infrastructure using the Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP). Together with Teradata’s BEA WebLogic integration, this will enable us to implement a secure, high-performance operational CRM system using our Teradata data warehouse,” said Andrus Maigre, database administrator,
Elion Enterprises AS, the largest provider of telecommunication and information technology services in Estonia.

As a part of its data warehouse solution, Teradata partners with leading software vendors to serve its customers. The following partners have tested and validated that their software is compatible with Teradata Warehouse 8.0: Ab Initio, Ambeo, Ascential, Atanasoft, BEZ, Business Objects, Cognos, DecisionPoint Software, ETI, GoldenGate, Hyperion, Informatica, KXEN, MicroStrategy, Prescient, SAS, Siebel Systems and Ward Analytics.

“This is the tenth consecutive year that MicroStrategy has been certified on Teradata. MicroStrategy’s integrated business monitoring, reporting and analysis capabilities are used everyday by hundreds of demanding Teradata customers worldwide. The availability, manageability and performance advances in Teradata 8.0 will enable our joint customers to scale their applications to meet their rapidly growing business intelligence needs,” said Sanju Bansal, chief operating officer, MicroStrategy.
