SAP The Right Fit For EziBuy

EziBuy, Australasia’s largest apparel and home décor catalogue company, has selected SAP and CIBER Novasoft to deliver a new business system platform based on the SAP for Retail software solution.

The project scope includes SAP Financials, Purchasing, Merchandising, Pricing and Promotions, Internet Sales Order Processing, the SAP Business Warehouse and SAP NetWeaver with the Exchange Infrastructure for integration with the existing POS and Warehouse Management systems.

CIBER Novasoft will provide services to deliver the solution in a phased approach which will see SAP Financials go live by early 2008 with the full “novaRetail” solution live by mid-year.

Based on SAP for Retail, novaRetail is a fully integrated and pre-configured packaged solution from CIBER Novasoft designed specifically for small and mid-size retail organisations. It includes the SAP ERP platform, NetWeaver and the SAP for Retail industry solution, along with implementation services, training and future application support as a packaged solution offering.

The SAP solution platform will replace a range of legacy solutions including a custom-built catalogue management solution that was developed in-house. As EziBuy’s business grew these systems were unable to manage the increasing complexity of inventory management, order fulfilment and the challenging processes around returns.

EziBuy CEO, Mary Devine, says the company selected CIBER Novasoft due to the proven quality of the integrated solution package.

“We were impressed by the strength of the local CIBER Novasoft team, the quality of the solution and the commitment of CIBER Novasoft and SAP to ensure we got a solution that would fit our business now and grow with us over time,” says Devine.

“We’re delighted that EziBuy has selected SAP as its core software provider,” says Ian Black, Managing Director of SAP New Zealand. “It is a company that has evolved its business model to meet the rapid evolution of the catalogue retail environment. A solution based on SAP technology will support EziBuy as the business continues to grow and adapt to meet the needs of its dynamic customer base.”

“In the Australasian market CIBER Novasoft specialises in adding value to retail and wholesale organisations implementing SAP,” says Guenter Winter, Managing Director of CIBER Novasoft Australia and New Zealand. “Our team are proud to have secured the opportunity to be working with EziBuy and SAP to implement an optimised retail solution, with a proven methodology and change management approach to help reduce cost and risk through the project.”

EziBuy was established in 1978 selling everything from womenswear to hardware via mail order catalogue. The EziBuy database now has over half a million active customers across Australia and New Zealand with around 50 percent of orders taken by a call centre with up to eighty telesales operators at peak times. Of the 2 million orders per year, around 30 percent of transactions are completed online at www.ezibuy.co.nz or www.ezibuy.com.au with growth increasing fastest through this channel. The company also has a 14-store network across New Zealand and Australia with more sites planned and an expanding wholesale channel with its own brand apparel.

The Distribution Centre is amongst the largest in the southern hemisphere and ships up to 9,000 parcels every day to customers across Australasia.
