Cyber-shot W series from Sony is the perfect all rounder
Shoot stunning AVCHD Full HD footage at a fraction of the cost with the new Cyber-shot W series

Auckland – 11 March, 2011 – Sony New Zealand today announced two new models in its range of Cyber-shot W series digital cameras. Stylish, compact and packed with the latest features, users can enjoy taking quality images and Full HD footage without the hefty price tag.

The new DSC-WX7 is the highlight addition to the Cyber-shot W series. Boasting 16.2 megapixels, AVCHD Full HD movie recording, Exmor R CMOS Sensor, Optical SteadyShot and a price tag under $500, this new model offers superior shooting capabilities at fantastic value.

Capture stunning low light footage in Full HD
With AVCHD Full HD movie recording (1920 x 1080i), both the WX7 captures stunning footage that can be simply uploaded to social networking sites (using the supplied software) or viewed in Full HD via a BRAVIA LCD TV using an HDMI cable. The dedicated Movie button ensures the whole experience is seamless, allowing users to start recording at any moment. In addition, images and video footage are clearer and sharper even after the sun has set, thanks to the Exmor R CMOS Sensor.

Capture breathtaking 185-degrees shots in Sweep Panorama Mode
Sony’s Intelligent Sweep Panorama Mode can now capture 42.9 megapixel still images – the highest resolution among all compact digital still cameras. Reaching beyond the traditional wide angle lens, users can capture stunning 185-degree shots of landscapes or skyscrapers by simply clicking the shutter, capturing scenes with a sweeping motion. The image can then be viewed in Full HD on a BRAVIA LCD TV or enlarged to a print or canvas and hung as a piece of art.

Simple on-the-go USB charging
Offering further convenience while travelling or on-the-go, the new W series feature USB charging, allowing users to maintain battery levels while transferring images and HD video to a PC or Mac.
The Cyber-shot DSC-WX7 is available from March 2011 with an RRP of $499.
