A fine end to the school holidays
The weather for
the final weekend of the school holidays looks set to be
dominated by high pressure, resulting in dry settled
conditions over much of the country.
MetService forecaster John Law explains "Remaining showers in the west to southwest flow should gradually retreat as the high builds in. The weekend will be great for outdoor plans so make the most of it."
Overnight temperatures will be on the cool side with the return of overnight frosts for Canterbury and Otago, leading to some chilly starts for Saturday and Sunday.
The large anticyclone is expected to linger across much of the country well into next week so enabling the dry settled weather to stick around.
