DVS supports Nikki Regnault’s stem cell therapy dream
DVS have teamed up with famous Kiwis to support MS sufferer Nikki Regnault’s stem cell therapy dream. The expensive treatment is Nikki’s last chance at fighting the degenerative disease.
The Wairarapa mum of three young children has lived with the crippling condition for 19 years and, in the past two years, her health and quality of life has been significantly affected.
But the recent emergence of Stem Cell therapy and its outstanding results has given Nikki and others with the disease hope. An overseas stem cell treatment can stop Nikki’s MS progressing. Having been accepted at the Singapore General Hospital to undergo this life changing treatment, Nikki now has to stump up with the $150,000 to $200,000 to fund the procedure.
Nikki and her family, friends and supporters have set up the ‘I Believe’ Trust to help raise the money. Nikki’s Hamilton-based brother and sister have organised a Gala Dinner and Auction which will be held at Hamilton’s Sky City Function Centre in July. Sky Commentator Scotty ‘Sumo’ Stevenson will MC the event and guest speakers will include Olympic cycling champion Sarah Ulmer and rugby hero Stephen Donald.
Local companies have donated goods and services for the auction, with DVS Waikato giving a Home Ventilation System valued at $3,980. The successful bidder will receive installation of the BRANZ-appraised ventilation system, an extended 5 year warranty on all parts, installation and operation effectiveness, and an imported German EC fan that costs just $1.75 a month to run. Endorsed by Asthma NZ, the DVS Ventilation System has electronic controls and is fully automatic with multiple settings and temperature controls.
Wayne Clifford, DVS Regional Manager Waikato, said the company didn’t hesitate to step in and help Nikki. “We jumped at the chance to donate a DVS system to the Charity Auction to help get Nikki the treatment she needs. I’m proud to work for a Kiwi company that is willing to step up and get involved in events like this.”
A givealittle page has also been set up and has so far raised $58,000. https://givealittle.co.nz/cause/ibelievetrustrunathon
