On Monday 10 August 2015, Prof. Jean-Pascal van Ypersele, Vice Chair and Candidate Chair of the IPCC, will visit Wellington.
He will speak publicly on the topic of: "Key messages from the IPCC 5th Assessment Report - Challenges and Opportunities ahead of the COP21 in Paris", at LT1, Old Government Buildings (Law Faculty), Victoria University of Wellington (RSVP required). He will also be meeting with key NZ climate change officials and academics.
The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change assesses the scientific, technical and socio- economic information relevant to understanding the scientific basis of risk of human-induced climate change, its potential impacts and options for adaptation and mitigation.
Prof van Ypersele's visit is co-hosted by the Embassy of Belgium to New Zealand, the New Zealand European Union Centres Network, the New Zealand Institute for International Affairs and the Delegation of the European Union to New Zealand.
