How to get that lucky break as an actor!
How to get that lucky break as an actor!
The Wellington Actors Studio confirms local Casting Directors have agreed to watch the best of The Studio’s talent. Participants in the upcoming Film Performance Intensive will have the best of their work in the course edited and sent to local Casting Directors in both Wellington and Auckland.
The exciting new arrangement means there is now a tangible way to create and promote your profile as an actor to those people pivotal to landing more audition opportunities. Among the Casting Directors are Liz Mullane of Liz Mullane Casting, who is the primary Casting Director for Peter Jackson’s films, along with many other credits; and Stu Turner from Catch Casting in Auckland who regularly visits Wellington to pull from the city’s talent pool.
More Casting Directors have been approached and are expected to join the initiative. “It’s a real boon for The Studio and a tangible way for our actors to make a mark and push the envelope” says Barbara Woods, The Studio’s director and main tutor
The Wellington Actors Studio, based on Dixon Street in the heart of the city, provides a number of programmes for beginners and experienced actors; as well as writers and directors; or those wanting pragmatic, unpretentious personal development.
