Embassy Ashgabat informed the Government of Turkmenistan via
diplomatic note on July 25 that Steve Carr was seeking election to
the Standing Commission of the International Red Cross and Red
Crescent Movement, and urged Turkmenistan to support his candidacy.
Any substantive response will be reported septel.
