(SBU) On July 25, Poloff met with MFA International Organizations
Department Expert Dang Quoc Hung to deliver reftel points on the
candidacy of Steve Carr to the Standing Commission of the ICRC.
Hung advised that, to his knowledge, the GVN has not yet received
any requests to support other candidates to the ICRC Standing
Committee. He added that the information about Mr. Carr's candidacy
would receive careful consideration. Hung said the Embassy will be
informed as soon as a decision is made.
