REF: STATE 15164

The Embassy passed reftel points to Minister Gustavo Anchil,
acting Director of the MFA's Directorate of International
Security and Nuclear and Space Issues. Anchil received the
information with equanimity, saying only that Argentina "will
keep its fingers crossed" that no parts of the satellite
touch down in populated areas. He committed to passing the
information up the line at the MFA and to other relevant GOA
entities, and asked that we keep the GOA informed as the
situation develops.
