SUBJECT: COUNTRY CLEARANCE REQUEST: APRIL 21-25 TO SEOUL,
PYONGYANG FOR EAP/K SUNG KIM AND DELEGATION

1. Department requests country clearance for Office of Korean
Affairs Director Sung Kim and delegation members listed in
para 3 to travel to Seoul en route to Pyongyang for
consultations related to the Six-Party Talks from April
21-25. Travelers will arrive Seoul April 21, travel to
Pyongyang overland April 22, return overland to Seoul April
24, and depart Seoul April 25. Specific times for DMZ
crossings will be provided separately via email.

2. Department requests Embassy Seoul to name a control
officer and provide administrative support, including
arrangement of ground transportation from Seoul to DMZ, and
from DMZ to Seoul, ROKG and UNC cooperation in facilitating
travel across the DMZ, and accommodations in Seoul April 21
and again April 24. Department thanks post for its
assistance.
