CHANGE OF STATUS REQUEST

(SBU) On 24 April 2008, POLOFF delivered ref demarche to Mr. Samir
Repishti in the Office of Multilateral Affairs at the Albanian
Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Repishti appreciated the work of
the EBRD in Albania, and had not received other information
concerning Turkey's request to change status to a country of
operation within the EBRD. Mr. Repishti will ensure all the
relevant offices within the Albanian government are aware of the
U.S. position and will advise accordingly.
