SUBJECT: MOZAMBIQUE TO COMMIT ELECTION OBSERVERS TO ZIMBABWE


(SBU) The government of Mozambique (GRM) will commit 26
election observers (25 via SADC and 1 via the African Union)
to Zimbabwe for the June 27 runoff. The delegation will be
led by Veronica Macamo, a high ranking member of the FRELIMO
political commission and deputy speaker of the National
Assembly. GRM officials told Emboffs that the Mozambican
observers will be sent to the provinces in Zimbabwe that
border Mozambique.
