1. (SBU) The Ambassador raised the Government of Bolivia's
suspension of operations by the Drug Enforcement
Administration (DEA) with Foreign Minister Jaime Bermudez
this month. Additionally, on November 12, post delivered
points in reftel to MFA Director for U.S. and Canadian
Affairs Patricia Cortes. Cortes thanked us for the points
and said she would pass on the information. She noted
Colombia is a member of the Bolivian Group of Friends, but
that the group had not met in some time and that there were
no plans to meet in the near future. She promised to inform
us if the GOC decided to take action on the issue.
