SUBJECT: Shortage of Hotel Rooms in Montevideo February 27 through
March 15, 2010

1. Uruguay's Presidential Inauguration will take place on Monday,
March 1, 2010. Official travelers are advised that hotels are not
available in Montevideo except through MFA channels and restricted
until March 3. In the days after the inauguration, Montevideo will
host several conferences, further limiting the availability of lodging
in the city through March 15.


2. During this period, Embassy Montevideo will be able to provide
hotel reservation assistance to only a limited number of official USG
visitors.
