BOARD OF GOVERNORS MEETING

REF: SECSTATE 16530

We met with the MFA's Laima Jureviciene, Head of the Middle
East and Africa Division as well as Donatas Vainalavicius and
Gediminas Kliukas from the Arms Control and Terrorism
Prevention Division to discuss Washington's concerns about
Syria in advance of the IAEA Board of Goveners meeting.
Vainalavicius thanked us for the information. We encouraged
the GOL to take advantage of opportunities at the EU level
and in other fora to encourage Syria to cooperate fully with
the IAEA.
