1) Refugees and West Timor locals in renewed fighting 10/07/00 (Bali Post) KUPANG - Oesao village residents and hundreds of their supporters from around Kupang launched a counter-attack against the refugee camp at Tuapukan in retaliation for the burning and looting of their homes last Saturday (1st July).

2) West Timor governor bows to ultimatum to resettle refugees 10/07/00 (Indonesian Observer) JAKARTA 06/07/00 - Locals in East Nusa Tenggara (West Timor) yesterday gave the province's Governor Piet A. Tallo a 48-hour deadline to permanently resettle troublesome East Timorese refugees to another location in Indonesia.

11) UNTAET Humanitarian Pillar Situation Report 30 Jun - 05 Jul 2000 07/07/00 (UNTAET) Returns: The total number of organised and voluntary returns to East Timor from West Timor, other parts of Indonesia and Australia stands at 165,626 with a total of 651 crossing the border from West Timor this week.
