Press Release Raelian Movement
December 9th, 2003

2004, the international year of atheism.

Press release - During the opening of the international Raelian Movement’s Convention, to be held in Crans Montana (Switzerland), next Friday December 12 at 2 p.m., His Holiness Rael, spiritual leader of the raelians, will officially declare "2004, the international year of atheism".

This year of promotion of atheism will be completed on December 13, 2004 by an International Convention of the Atheists of the world in Rome and a will include a gathering on the place where Giordano Bruno was burnt alive. Giordano Bruno who let us recall, not only spoke about extraterrestrial life, but also about infinity in time and space, fundamental values of the atheist Raelian religion. He was jailed during seven years for his rebellious opinions in Rome by th Holy Office, tortured on the orders of the Vatican then burnt alive as "heretic". Some flowers will be deposited in front of his statue by the world leaders of the atheistic organizations. The ceremony will end by burning at the stake an effigy of the Pope on the same spot where he had Giordano Bruno burned alive .

The Raelian Movement, an atheist religion, whose founding dogma is the assertion that all forms of lives on Earth, were created scientifically thanks to a perfect mastering of genetic engineering by extraterrestrial visitors a very long time ago, is the most powerful world organization proselytizing atheism with 60 000 members divided in 86 countries.

Atheism is a matter of individual free choice that is guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of the Humans Rights and religious freedom, this fundamental freedom also guaranteeing the right of being atheist.
