Solidarity and Struggle Continue in Biddu

Solidarity and Struggle Continue in Biddu

[Biddu, NW Jerusalem] The people of Biddu, organized by the Biddu Popular Committee Against the Wall, will hold a general strike on Thursday, May 6 to protest the land and lives destroyed by the Apartheid Wall. In addition to this popular strike, international and Israeli peace activists will accompany the villagers of Biddu as they again march to their land currently being demolished as the Wall is erected in the area of NW Jerusalem. This march will begin at 11:00 AM and start at the Biddu Village Council.

In addition to Thursday's activities, Biddu will again hold its weekly prayer service on demolished land on Friday, May 7. All participants will meet at the Biddu Village Council on Friday at 12:00 PM and then march to the designated prayer area.

During the prayer service held in Biddu last Friday, many Palestinians from the northern West Bank came to express their support for Biddu's struggle. To continue this widespread Palestinian support for Biddu seen last Friday, the Biddu Popular Committee has sent an invitation to other villages of NW Jerusalem and the surrounding area to attend the protest and resistance of Biddu on Thursday and Friday.
