Annan Condemns Deadly Attack On Political Rally In
Bangladesh
Secretary-General Kofi Annan has deplored Saturday's bombing of an opposition political rally in the Bangladeshi capital, Dhaka, which reportedly killed more than a dozen people.
Mr. Annan was "appalled" at the news of the grenade attack, which also injured many of the participants in the rally, his spokesman said in a statement.
Strongly condemning the use of violence against
civilians, the Secretary-General called for the perpetrators
to be brought to justice, and urged all concerned to show
restraint in the days ahead.
