Indonesia: Amnesty International condemns Jakarta bomb attack

Amnesty International strongly condemns today’s bomb attack outside the Australian Embassy in Jakarta, Indonesia.

Attacks on civilians can never be justified and are prohibited by international law. Amnesty International calls for the perpetrators to be brought promptly to justice in proceedings that meet international standards.

The organization extends its deepest sympathy to the victims -- many of whom are Indonesian -- and to their families and friends.
