Nepal Faces Ongoing Uncertainty

Nepal -- Government in Nepal has said that even when talks with the Maoists rebellion failed to be started within the next two months, it would initiate for general election. A minister has said that government will declare election in the country after two months, whether or not Maoists come for peace talks. He said that government cannot wait for dialogues only while country is without parliament for more than two years.

The statement came at the time when both the warring groups have laid down arms for nine days to relief people from insurgency for celebrating their biggest festival 'Dashain.' The rebel laid down arms on the first day of 10-day long festival starting October 20 while three days later government announced that it laid down arms for this fastive season.

However, opposion parties have been pressurising government for fruitful peace talks and then election.

The government of Nepal has already experienced two peace talks that failed to restore peace and democratic processes. The rebels are approaching for direct talks with the king and not with present government, which doesn't have legal status.
