Iran's Nuclear Activities Based On NPT Regulations

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said here Sunday that though Iran voluntarily implemented the Additional Protocol for two and a half years to prove its good will to Europe, the country's nuclear installations were sealed.

The statement was part of an exclusive interview with France Channel 2 TV network.

The chief executive raised the question whether the Additional Protocol is implemented by the US, Britain and France and if it is accepted by the US.

"How does a country which itself violates law expect us to give up calling for our legal right.

"Our nuclear activities are conducted according to NPT regulations, according to which we are entitled to have nuclear fuel cycle," he added.

Turning to his last year letter to President George W. Bush about the problems currently facing the world, he said that everybody is aware that the current world problems, including the current situation in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine, Lebanon, Sudan, South America, Africa and Asia, are rooted in the wrong approach of US officials.

"Similarly, Iran's nuclear problem is a consequence of their wrong approach," he added.

Ahmadinejad underlined that one way to solve such difficulties is to change their stance on the world developments, given that if they do not take proper decisions the history and world nations will ask them to revise their approach.

In response to a question about Iran's refusal to suspend its nuclear activities, even temporarily, the president stressed, "Given that Iran's nuclear program is legal, why should we suspend it at its early stage, while the US and British nuclear facilities are running without interruption?"
