UK Law Firm Wins Place In Gay-Friendly Workplace Rankings
www.LawJobsPipeline.com - Legal Jobs Blog - Gay pride is not something we hear a huge amount about these days with lawyers, notwithstanding the occasional lawsuits (like Cravath's faced last year). However Pinsent Masons, the UK lawyers, are positively bursting with gay pride at being named by gay rights group Stonewall as the most 'gay friendly' lawyers in the UK, as announced in their press release.
Pinsents came 67th of the UK's 100 most gay-friendly employers, Stonewall concluded in its 2008 Workplace Equality Index, in which 240 employers were scored by their gay or lesbian employees.
According to The Lawyer, scoring criteria include implementation of equality policies, the demonstration of good practice in recruitment and mentoring, and engagement with gay staff and service users. Pinsents are one of 18 law firms who have joined the Stonewall network, the latest gay-friendly lawyers to join being Allen & Overy.
