Burma: Bloggers' Site Blocked
Burma: Bloggers' Site Blocked
Once again, Burma's paranoid generals are trying to halt the flow of information out of the country.
In the last few days, Burmese bloggers have reported that access to one of the most popular sites - www.blogger.com - has been denied by the Myanmar Post and Telecom Ministry. The site has already been blocked by Bagan Teleport, Burma's other main junta-controlled internet service provider.
Officials refute the accusation that orders have been given to block the site. However, informed sources report that the generals are determined to prevent a repeat of last September, when bloggers provided the world with a window on the monk-led " Saffron Revolution".
