Philippines Red Cross Thanks New Zealand & Chevron

Philippines: PNRC thankful for donations from New Zealand and Chevron

Philippine National Red Cross (PNRC) Chairman Senator Richard Gordon expressed gratitude to the Government of New Zealand and Chevron Filipino Employee Network for their respective donations to the victims of typhoon Frank.

Last July 23, New Zealand Ambassador to the Philippines David Pine handed over to Senator Gordon a check worth 100,000 New Zealand dollars (P3,209,330) intended for the families affected by the disaster.

Meanwhile, the Chevron Filipino Employee Network gave a check amounting to P120,751 to the PNRC. Representatives from Chevron Philippines, Glenn Lynch, General Manager for Finance, and Antonio Nebrida Jr., Corporate Communications Manager, handed out the donation.The simple ceremony was done at the New Zealand Embassy in Makati City.

Gordon said the donations will be used by the PNRC to build homes for those families who were displaced by typhoon Frank. 'I am very thankful to both the New Zealand government and Chevron Philippines for their donations. The PNRC is very much grateful because we need these donations for the continuous relief operations, livelihood assistance, and to build houses for those who were affected by typhoon Frank,' said Gordon.
