Conference for Burmese Bloggers Banned by Military
A technical conference for Burmese bloggers, scheduled to take place in Rangoon, has been banned by Burma's paranoid military junta.
The Burmese military regime has attempted to control blogging since last September’s Saffron Revolution, when bloggers played a key role in getting the latest reports and images out on the demonstrations and the junta's brutal crackdown.
One well-known blogger, Nay Phone Latt, who was arrested on 29 January and is still being detained.
