Entity of South Ossetia (Taken Question)

Georgia: Provisional Administrative Entity of South Ossetia (Taken Question)

Question: What do we know about the pro-Georgian Ossetian government (the government of Dmitry Sanakoyev) that existed before recent events? What happened to it? Where is Sanakoyev? What is his position now?

Answer: The Provisional Administrative Entity of South Ossetia, led by Dmitry Sanakoyev, is a regional administrative entity established by the Government of Georgia in 2007. It was located in Kurta, to the north of Tskhinvali, and was one of the areas most affected by South Ossetian shelling prior to the Russian invasion.

We refer you to the Government of Georgia for more information.
