U.S: Remarks With Ukrainian Foreign Minister

Remarks With Ukrainian Foreign Minister Volodymyr Ohryzko

Secretary Condoleezza Rice

Waldorf-Astoria Hotel

Washington, DC

September 22, 2008

QUESTION: Does the U.S. still support the NATO membership for Ukraine?

SECRETARY RICE: We, of course, are – have been and will continue to be supportive of Ukraine’s transatlantic ambitions. And of course, the U.S. position on MAP was very clear.

QUESTION: Thank you.

SECRETARY RICE: Thank you. I should just say the Bucharest declaration is also very clear. (Laughter.) I would suggest that you read the Bucharest declaration again. Thank you.
