Burma: Appointment of Michael Green
Burma: Appointment of Michael Green as Special Envoy (Taken Question)
Question: Has the recently-appointed Special Envoy for Burma, Michael Green, taken up his new position? Does he have any plans to travel to the region?
Answer: On November 10, the President announced his intention to nominate Michael Green as Special Representative and Policy Coordinator for Burma.
This position is subject to Senate confirmation. Mr. Green will not assume the duties of his new position until confirmed by the Senate and therefore we cannot speculate on any plans he may have at this time.
