Hollywood Star Paltrow’s Blog Criticized For Catering To “Outer” While Claiming To “Nourish The Inner Aspect”
Hindu statesman Rajan Zed has suggested Oscar winner Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow to change the tagline of her weekly newsletter “GOOP” from “nourish the inner aspect” to “nourish the outer aspect”.
Zed, who is president of Universal Society of Hinduism, in a statement in Nevada (USA) today, said that Paltrow’s newsletter mostly talked about shallow substances dealing with temporal and external pleasures. When looked for words like spirituality, meditation, realization, consciousness, truth, liberation, contemplation, etc., on the “search…” feature of her blog, the result popped up: “There are no newsletters available for this search!”.
What Tate’s Chocolate Chip Cookies, Hermes Cape Cod Watch For Her (priced $1850), Black boots by Isabel Marant, Top Chef Boxed Set, Keep the Car Running, Bar Tomas in Barcelona which “has tables with chairs so you can sit down”, etc., had to do with “inner aspect”, Rajan Zed asked.
Ancient Hindu scriptures Upanishads indicated that finite things could not calm an infinite thirst because the delight lied in the infinite. We could not fill the hollowness with outer materials. We should aim at uniting with Self, described as sat-chit-anand (absolute existence, pure consciousness, outright bliss), Zed pointed out interpreting the scriptures.
Rajan Zed further said that he did not comprehend why Paltrow (Shakespeare in Love) wanted to market a product with an entirely different label. He offered to help Paltrow, if asked.
GOOP is said to be a name carved from 36-year old Gwyneth Kate Paltrow’s initials, who is also sometimes known as “part yogini”.
